Orochimaru will be final villain

Orochimaru’s heel turn to ally was very unexpected and just came out of nowhere. Now that could just be what it looks like, him turning a new leaf, but perhaps he’s playing the long game like the crazy mfer he is. I think Mitsuki could be important for this plan and was designed in order to fill a role later on. I think Orochimaru still wants immortality and is intending to hijack the Otsutsuki’s plans for himself, and is waiting for the opportunity.

After accepting that he won’t be able to take Sasuke’s body because Sasuke had simply become too powerful, and then witnessing the power of the Otsutsuki, I think he realized the best course of action was to earn the trust of Konoha and study the Otsutsuki from a distance. I just don’t buy the idea he actually cares about Mitsuki as a son, Orochimaru has always been the kind to manipulate things from afar. I believe he’s humbled but I do not believe he has given up on his original goals completely. I don’t have much to go on, just that he’s still presented as a very sketchy character that has a history of lying to and manipulating others.
