From what Amado and Code have told us, we know two things about Code:
- Code worships the Otsutsuki in general
- He has an even greater attachment to Isshiki especially
My theory for these two things – Code is originally from a different planet. The planet he came from was one that knew of the Otsutsuki and worshipped them as deities (they may have been a more primitive people). Since he was a child and before he was taken by Jigen, it had already been ingrained in him that the Otsutsuki were “gods”.
This planet may have had a tradition of “human sacrifice” where they would give their suitable kids away as potential vessels to the Ohtsutsuki and it was considered the highest honor for them. Or, it may also just have been a way to stop the Ohtsutsuki from devouring all the life on their planet by making this compromise to give away their children voluntarily. This may be how Isshiki was able to get Code as a child from that planet to be a potential vessel.
This is why Code reveres Isshiki even more than the rest of the Ohtsutsuki because it was one of the gods that specifically chose him. It’s also why he has so much resentment for Kawaki who ended up replacing Code’s role due to Code not being suitable and for not understanding what a great “honor” it was to be able to be the vessel for his god.
