Ever since his character was introduced, there’s been a lot of debate about Amado and his intentions. There have been a lot of suspicious/manipulative moments from him which have led a lot of people to believe that Amado is scheming something and that he is actually evil (or at least has something crazy in plan to disrupt the world or at least the village). But what if Amado is both innocent and guilty at the same time?
Like Momoshiki said, “gods” have meddled with the memories of mankind many times in the past. Amado may be someone who has had his memories erased of his past life and sincerely believes in himself as just being a brokenhearted father who only cares about reviving his daughter. But in reality, he has another plan in store which he will implement once his memories return.
If you have watched Death Note, what I’m describing is something very similar to what Light Yagami did (!!!Death Note spoilers below!!!).
To convince people that he wasn’t the mass murderer, Light Yagami made himself lose his memories of his actions and the Death Note and became “innocent”. Pretty much everyone around him believed that he was good and stopped suspecting him. At some point though, Light was able to regain his memories and had the infamous “All according to plan” scene. Amado might have something similar planned.
If this theory is true, there’s a lot of things to think about this:
- Who erased Amado’s memories?
- Maybe himself? Meaning that he was formerly an Ohtsutsuki? To take it a step further, maybe he himself was Shibai or Shibai’s partner at some point before turning himself back into a human?
- Maybe he used to work with Ohtsutsuki (like Shibai or Shibai’s partner) who had his memories erased?
- How is he going to get his memories back?
- Maybe he devised a way to get his memories back similar to Light
- Maybe some Ohtsutsuki he is working with was told when to restore his memories and
- Most importantly, why did they want to make him lose his memories?
- Maybe there something he needed to do on Earth that he could only do as a human?
