The ability to use and apply Space Time powers is considered to be one of the most advanced forms of chakra application. There are many forms of these subset abilities. This guide is supposed to help those who do not understand the properties of this that have been shown throughout the Naruto and Boruto series.

Summoning Jutsu: 口寄せの術¬ (Kuchiyose no Jutsu)

Users – Universal across the Shinobi world and other species

Chakra usage – Varies upon summoning and summoner

Category – Space Time (Ninjutsu), Offensive/Defensive mutual assistance

Weakness: Summoning object varies Difficulty – Easy to hard (C Rank)

The Summoning Jutsu is a form of Space time ninjutsu that anyone who has a contract seal can use. Various shinobi across the land can access a special summoning either by a blood contract or summoning seal. The summoned object or creature varies. However the larger the summoning is, the more chakra will be required to access said summoning. The summoner also has the option to reverse summon their own body out of a certain area. However if the summoner tries to reverse summon via an in complete contract the resulting reverse summon could lead to a random spot anywhere in the planet.

The Rinnegan’s Animal Path has a showing of the most advanced version of a summoning ability. As the Animal Path can summon immortal creatures without the use of hand signs or weaving without a blood contract indefinitely

Flying Thunder God Technique飛雷神の術­ (Hiraishin no Jutsu) known as Flying Raijin

Users : Tobirama Senju, Minato Namikaze, Boruto Uzumaki, <Raido Namiashi, Genma Shiranue, Iwashi Tatami> (In unison).

Chakra Usage: Extremely demanding (Potentially lethal)

Category: Space Time Ninjutsu (Evasive, defensive, and offensive potency) Complete Teleportation

Transportation Speed: Instantaneous teleportation

Movement Speed: Varies upon user Set up: Requires extensive preparation and mental concentration/Awareness

Weakness: Senjutsu precognition exploitation, destruction of formula/tag placements Difficulty: Extremely difficult (S Rank)

The Flying Thunder God (FTG) or Flying Raijin technique is a Space Time ninjutsu created by Tobirama Senju. A power originally developed to counter the visual prowess of the Uchiha Clan’s evasive bodily maneuvers. The Flying Raijin has many useful properties, as it allows the user to Instantaneously jump to another point immediately, essentially allowing the user (in theory) to time travel into a future standpoint. And if the user can, they can also travel to an entirely different dimension if a tag is present in said dimension and the user has enough chakra. The tag once placed on an individual remains on them forever (Juubi Transformation exception) To commit to a jump, the FTG user must create or develop their own unique formula seal then place said seal onto a physical object. The unlimited usage of a formulaic seal allows a near endless number of diverse tactics and tactical implementation for the user. Granting highly valued advantageous mobility in the battlefield. Due to the nature of this invaluable power there are many versions of the FTG power, the versatility list includes:

  • Flying Raijin Level: 2
  • Spiraling Flash Super Round Dance Howl Style Three
  • Guiding Thunder
  • Thunder God Slash
  • Mutually Instantaneous Revolving Technique

Because of the extreme technicalities of the FTG, the user will rely on heavy Kenjutsu/Bukijutsu (Weapon usage). As shown Tobirama uses both a sword and kunai as his means of transportation, Minato relies exclusively on his FTG tagged kunais. Boruto has shown to rely on markers exclusively to teleport for the time being. If the user is skilled enough they can also augment the movement speed of the FTG by using a specific chakra nature; lightning being a prime example (Minato). A big weakness to the FTG however would include opponents who have the capacity to either destroy all the formula tags throughout the surrounding area, or a user who is an advanced practitioner of Senjutsu chakra via nature precognition.

Kamui – 神威

Users: Obito Uchiha, Kakashi Hatake

Chakra Usage: Very demanding/Varies upon usage (Potentially lethal)

Category: Space Time Doujutsu (Exclusive Mangekyo Sharingan power), Evasive, defensive and offensive potency. Portal entry

Transportation Speed: Needs startup for portal access, requires user to materialize for several seconds. Portal exist also take few seconds. (Transportation Speed increased with both eyes present)

Movement Speed: Varies upon user

Set Up: Requires user to willfully activate Kamui and materialize

Exclusive Passive: Instantaneous defensive dematerialization before/without user’s sensory reaction awareness

Weakness: 5 Minute intangibility time limit (Extended via Six Paths chakra DMS). User materialization to portal hop leaving body exposed (reduced portal exposure via Six Paths chakra DMS) Difficulty: Varies upon user.

Difficulties: vary from bodily modifications (No Rank)

The Kamui ability is an exclusive eye power only awakened via Obito’s pair of eyes. The Mangekyo Sharingan has two powers that it grants. The right eye grants intangibility and Kamui portal hopping via the Kamui dimension. The left eye grants Kamui ‘barrier space’ technique; the ability to form a ranged Kamui time space rift in an offensive manner, the resulting attack can bisect an enemy. Obito Uchiha due to his bodily modifications via Hashirama cells can take advantage of multiple portal hops. However Kakashi due to his non Uchiha biology cannot over use his kamui abilities as he can reach fatal levels of chakra usage.

The Kamui’s intangibility can only last five minutes, therefore the user cannot indefinitely remain stagnant in the same spot. The other limitation of the Kamui is it’s transportation speed. As the user must momentarily materialize leaving themselves exposed to a potential counter offensive move from an enemy. As seen with Konan’s exploding paper bombs and Sasuke’s Chidori slash vs Madara.

The Kamui also has the innate ability to traverse other dimensions, namely Otsutsuki dimensions via dimension hopping by mapping the time space coordinates. However to the caution of the Kamui user since these are not of their own dimension, therefore this hop requires more chakra usage to bypass into.

During the Fourth Great Shinobi War Obito’s spirit passed onto Kakashi’s body during their final battle against Kaguya Otsutsuki. This ‘Dual Mangekyo Sharingan’(DMS) Kakashi possessed the power of both eyes and the energy of Six Paths chakra. Augmenting his physical stats exponentially. This DMS Kakashi’s Kamui time are not only extended but boosted in speed for the Kamui’s Barrier Space attack.

The list includes:

• Six Paths: Augmented Susanoo

• Kamui Shuriken

• Six Paths: Kamui Raikiri

The Kamui Shuriken and Kamui Raikiri share a unique passive. As both give off the illusion that the energetic attack is present. As these powers are in a separate dimension altogether. Not only are all these techniques unexploitable but virtually unstoppable to counter. These unique attacks negate durability of all types since these techniques takes whatever it touches back into the Kamui dimension permanently.

The user as well can phase through all attacks when when in offensive mode as well. The duration of the five minute limiter is also extended via Six Paths chakra and both eyes present.

Amenotejikara天手力­

Users: Sasuke Uchiha

Chakra Usage: Very demanding

Category: Space Time Doujutsu (Exclusive 6 Tomoe Rinnegan) Evasive, defensive and offensive potency. Portal entry and Teleportation

Transportation Speed: Instantaneous Teleportation for Amenotejikara, slower speed for portal usage

Movement Speed: Varies upon user

Set Up: The user must focus on an external object or person and “switch” (10 Meter radius limitation), portal opening requires space time coordinate knowledge/memory Weakness: Extremely taxing on body when overdone leaving low chakra levels (Portal Usage)

Difficulty: Medium (No Rank

The Kokugan (黒眼, literally meaning Black Eye)

Users: Isshiki Otsutsuki, Kawaki Uzumaki

Chakra Usage: Varies upon user (Easy to handle)

Category: Space Time Doujutsu/Shinjutsu (Dharmagan). Instantaneous summoning

Transportation Speed: Otsutsuki portal only, few seconds to implement start up

Movement Speed: None for user, instantaneous for non living objects that are summoned

Set Up: Minimal effort from user, however it will require the corresponding power ‘Sukunahikona’ to store shrunken objects into the Daikokuten dimension.

Weakness: None

Difficulty: Minimal to no difficulty (No Rank) Divine Shinjutsu ability

The Daikokuten ability is a power from Isshiki Otsutsuki’s unique eye the ‘Kokugan’. The ability allows the user to access the Daikokuten dimension. A dimension where shrunken objects are stored from the Dharmagan’s other eye ability Sukunahikona. This allows Isshiki or Kawaki the ability to instantaneously summon a previously shrunken item from the Daikokuten dimension via ‘Daikokuten Summoning’; Pillars, chakra rods, energy Cubes, or any other object previously shrunken in pristine condition or the condition of what it was in the normal world.

The Daikokuten dimension can also store living individuals if said individuals were pulled in by an Otsutsuki portal (not shrunken by Sukunahikona) once stored the living organism will enter a state of comatose and undergo a state of complete cryostasis at the atomic level. Effectively stopping the aging process. This however was only shown effective against normal human beings and not other Otsutsukis.

This is not to be confused with ‘Sukunahikona’. As Sukunahikona is a separate offensive and defensive ability. Or the power to shrink oneself or any inanimate object.

Claw Marks爪痕­ (Tsumeato) – Black Bands

Users: Shibai Otsutsuki, Code, Claw Grimes, Shinju

Chakra Usage: Minimal (Easy to handle)

Category: Space Time Shinjutsu. Dimensional tear entry Transportation Speed: Medium speed (User must enter into the Claw Mark during exposure periods)

Movement Speed: Varies upon individual Set Up: Requires User to visually open Claw Mark rifts (limited to the user’s field of vision) unlimited Claw Marks are available

Weakness: Subject to the Dharmagan’s Sukunahikona or the Mangekyo Sharingan’s Kamui Barrier Space attack, (potential to be absorbed by the Rinnegan’s Preta Path)

Difficulty: Minimal (No Rank) Divine Shinjutsu ability

The Clawmarks rifts is a prehistoric Space Time ability that originally belonged to Shibai Otsutsuki, however due to Amado’s research on Shibai’s mummified corpse, successful genetic implementation was done to the adopted Kara individual known as Code. Though Code failed to inherit the Black Karma of Isshiki Otsutsuki, he was still able to apply Claw Marks into his moveset.

The Claw Marks rely on iron that is found within the user’s blood, therefore it is unable to be absorbed by the likes of Karmic absorption. Making Claw Marks an essential counter to other Karma hosts. Code can create as much tears as he desires granting him the ability to go anywhere on earth or to an Otsutsuki dimension without any difficulty. The Marks can also make a Juvenile Juubi undergo a form of transfiguration into ‘Claw Grimes’.

Because of the versatility of the Claw Marks it often associated with the extensive tool usage of the Flying Raijin albeit in a much slower travel speed. However the Marks can be exploited by advanced powers of previously seen doujutsu abilities such as Obito’s Mangekyo Sharingan, The Dharmagan and the Rinnegan.

Users: Momoshiki, Kinshiki, Urashiki, Isshiki, Kaguya, Hagaromo(Anime), Hamura(Anime), Boruto, Kawaki, Jigen, Sasuke, Black Zetsu, Madara (Game), Shinju(s), Shibai Otsutsuki

Yomotsu Hirasaka – 黄泉比良坂

Chakra Usage: Varies upon Individual (Very taxing if overdone)

Category: Space Time Shinjutsu/Kekkei Mora. Portal entry

Transportation Speed: Medium Speed (Needs a few seconds to access) Movement Speed: Varies upon Individual Set Up: The following Otsutsuki must willfully create the portal and step through it

Weakness: Can be exploited via coordinate exploitation, advanced Six Paths Senjutsu Precognition, Divine eye destructive abilities, Jougan sight

Difficulty: Minimal (No Rank) Divine Shinjutsu

Otsutsuki Portals is a special time space ability from time immemorial and often cited as the progenitor of all space time ninjutsu. This power is often or exclusively associated with Otsutsuki individuals or descendants. The ability to open portals into Otsutsuki dimensions is naturally reserved for Otsutsukis due to their unique chakra nature or powers. Portals have a wide range of uses either as a defensive maneuver or offensive counter attack. As such it is reserved for users with high chakra reserves. Unique Divine eyes can also access Otsutsuki portals by the following listed:

• Six Tomoe Rinnegan

• 9 Tomoe Rinnesharingan

• Dharmagan

• Jougan

The weaknesses are also vast as well. Individuals who use the power of Six Paths Senjutsu power can evade individuals who use Otsutsuki portals as a counter offensive attack. Similarly the Jougan can see and react to Otsutsuki portal abuse. Other powers that includes doujutsus such as the Dharmagan or MS Kamui can either shrink the portal or destroy it via Kamui.

Interestingly there are two variants. A digitized variant (Kaguya, Urashiki, Madara) have adopted. And swirled version all the other Otsutsukis use. With the digitized variant being more advanced in usage

Miscellaneous Time Space objects/Artifacts : Kara Gates were developed by the help of Isshiki Otsutsuki and Amado’s scientific advances of transportation needs. The Time Turtle is a mysterious Turtle device originally created by the Otsutsuki clan in the distant past. Able to traverse the fabric of time itself. May hold significant relevancy later in the Boruto timeline. Mabui’s Heavenly Transfer Technique.

Common Misconceptions:

Misconception : #1 “Minato is faster than Kamui”

The very first would be “Kamui wasn’t fast enough to react to Minato’s Rasengan. This would be impossible because the Kamui has an instantaneous passive that phases the body entirely.

Meaning for Obito to have been countered, Minato would have had to time when Obito would have to materialize again. Which was the case in their final showdown. In basic terms. Minato timed a counter attack knowing Obito had to willfully materialize to touch him.

Misconception: #2 “Sasuke speed blitzed Madara”

Another misconception of how the Kamui’s intangibility works. In this instance Madara to save his other Rinnegan from potential destruction had to travel to the Kamui dimension. However to do this he must materialize before opening a Kamui portal.

Madara at the time knew very much about his immortality so he didn’t mind if he got hit. In fact, he very much saw Sasuke coming towards him when he materialized to enter the Kamui dimension. Not a true speed feat from Sasuke, but more of a misunderstood panel.
